The Australian Competition Tribunal (ACT) handed down its decision today that the Eastern Gas Pipeline owned by Duke Energy Australia should not be covered under the National Third Party Access Code for Natural Gas Pipeline Systems (the Code).

Mr Jim McDonald, Chief Executive Officer of Australian Pipeline Trust (APA) said “I welcome the decision as a major step in clarifying the operation of the Code. APA will be reviewing the decision in detail and in particular will be considering the implications of the decision for the Moomba to Sydney Pipeline, 100% owned by East Australian Pipeline Limited (a subsidiary of APA).”
